Focus for a New Year

Today I took the RB67 out for the first time in a while. I haven’t gotten out to photograph in a while but that is largely my own fault. It felt good to go out with a camera and it really did a lot to clear my head. I think this year I want to focus on Black and white film photography. It is a return to my photographic roots. Before digital a basic photo classes started with black and white for a lot of reasons.  It was easy to see exposure; it reduced the image to its most basic graphic elements and not least of it was easy, the process black and white film by hand.

For me black and white images are very graphic, and they work very well when capturing the urban still life images that make up my style.
