I am a fan of abstract art and I spend a fair amount of time looking for abstract composition in my photography. I personally gravitate toward their occurrence in an urban setting. I think it’s in my blood and comes from the fact that I have been stranded by it my whole life. I grew up with several paintings by my grandfather, who was trained in abstract painting at the “Art Students League” of NYC, in our house at any given time. Also spending time with my grandparents meant time looking at modern art and lots of. I am sure this has influenced a lot of my artistic eye and tastes.
